Brisbane Residential Design - What Does It Involve?

MLDG | Building Designers have been providing quality architectural services for over 11 years throughout Brisbane. Our team of experienced professionals will guide you through every step of the process, ensuring that your new home is designed to last.

The first thing we'll do is meet up at your property to discuss your needs and requirements.

Forming a strong collaborative relationship from the start is very important to achieving your desired design outcomes. The intial site visit is all about establishing the scope of work required, the budget, style preferences, and other considerations. Our design team will send ou. This includes detailed drawings and specifications, as well as an estimate of construction costs.

Once we've established what you're looking for, we'll then begin designing your new space.

Our designers will take into account your budget, style preferences, and other considerations when developing your plan. They'll also consider how much natural light there is in your area, whether you'd prefer a formal or casual atmosphere, and any special features you might require.

Your new design will progress through four important steps starting with concept design, design development, working drawings and finally construction documentation.

  • Concept design involves creating an initial idea of what you would like your house to look like. This process usually begins by talking to our team about your needs and wants. You'll then work together to develop a detailed plan that includes everything from floor plans to elevations, kitchen layouts, furniture arrangements, landscaping ideas, and more.

  • Design Development involves taking your initial concepts and turning them into a set of working drawings that show exactly what your house will look like once completed. Working drawings are used to communicate your vision to contractors, builders, architects, engineers, and anyone else involved in the project.

  • Working Drawings are the first step towards building your dream home. Once we've developed your working drawings, we'll send them out to local tradespeople who will start the job. These people will use the drawings as a guide to build your home.

  • Construction Documentation is the final step before your home is complete. It's where we document every aspect of the construction process so that you can see exactly what has been done and what still needs to be done.

Finally, once your new house design has been completed, we'll either hand the project over to your builder or continue in the next role as project manager.

Our team at Brisbane residential design understands how stressful moving into a new home can be. That's why we're here to help make the transition easier. We'll take care of everything from helping you find a suitable property, to providing advice on how to decorate and furnish your new space.

We also offer a range of services to ensure your new home is well maintained throughout its lifetime. From regular maintenance checks to emergency repairs, we'll keep your home looking good and running smoothly.
